CBE unveils EGP 47.25bn T-bills, floating-rate note on Sunday

Cairo - Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) offered treasury bills (T-bills) at an aggregated value of EGP 46.50 billion through two issues on Sunday, 1 October 2023.

The first offering stood at EGP 19.50 billion, carrying a tenor of 182 days until 2 April 2024, according to official data.

Meanwhile, the second tranche was valued at EGP 27 billion and will mature in 364 days on 1 October next year.

Holding a three-year tenor until 3 October 2026, the CBE unveiled floating-rate treasury bonds (T-bonds) worth EGP 750 million through one auction.

On 25 September, the financial authority announced T-bills and T-bonds at a total value of EGP 40.25 billion over three tranches.

It is worth highlighting that the central bank resumed operations today following Mawlid El-Nabawi’s vacation that took place on 28 September.
